Compton & Chandlers Ford

C & CFCC was formed by a merger of two local clubs in 1996 in order to take the best of both with the strong junior section of Chandlers Ford and the higher placed team and ground of Compton. The merger has been a great success with the club kicking on and providing a great location for cricket in the area with many successful seasons and a strong Junior section.

The club has 4 adult league teams, a midweek team playing in the Winchester District competitions and junior teams at Under 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19s level. There has been significant focus on the juniors in the club and are always keen to get them involved in adult as well as junior cricket from a young age.

The junior teams have enjoyed considerable success in recent years with the U16s winning the Ageas Bowl under 16 League in 2016 and several players going on to District and County selection.

We have 5 junior teams during the summer and 2 indoor teams during the winter months. We are always keen for new players of all standards and all new players can be sure of a warm welcome.

We’ve trained up our own coaches who are both qualified and they lead the training sessions during the winter and summer months. We use Thornden School in Chandlers Ford for the indoor training in the spring terms.

In the summer, U9s and U11s train on a Friday night from 6.30pm and U13s and U15s train on a Tuesday night from 6pm, and there’s no charge for members who pay an annual sub.

We’re members of Winchester Warriors Junior Cricket, the District Association for junior cricket, and the club is affiliated to the Hampshire Cricket Board. Our junior coaches and junior leaders are DBS checked and we make sure they take part in regular refresher training for coaches.
