U13A Programme: unfortunately Bishops Waltham have had to withdraw from the U13 A division because they have too few players available for that team this season. There was an odd number of teams in that division, so those clubs that had a ‘no match’ week should now play the listed Bishops Waltham fixture.

2 RULES and PLAYING ARRANGEMENTS

The Rules for all WW fixtures are also on the website. They are unchanged from 2009. Please note that the District Clubs agreed (March 2010) that players with disabilities were allowed to play in an age group team that is up to 2 years younger than their chronological age.

Please also note that the Committee recently considered (April 2010) proposals to change the retiring batsmen rules, the rules about the age of players (especially those with birthdays very early in September each year), and the importance of home teams ensuring that pitches are adequately prepared. The Committee decided to make no changes on these rules and standards. The Committee agreed to emphasise that turf pitches must be adequately prepared by the home team and suitable for the match to take place.

3 RESULTS

We are moving towards an electronic reporting system using websites to record information and results. However, the planned system is not yet ready to go, so for the moment, all results must be notified by email within 24 hours of the match, to the appropriate Results Secretary. Instructions are as follows:

All Age Groups and competitions: Results from these matches must be notified on the appropriate WWJC Results Scoresheet. The Scoresheets are on the WWJC website (see website links below).

Results Reporters (or Team Managers) must report the result of their match by email to the Result Secretary (as below) for their age group. It is equally important for these results to be reported to have a good picture of:

The result of the match – to know how the fixtures are going, and to give WWJC information about the fixtures programme, and
To highlight performances and talented cricketers in the Clubs and District
To enable the Results Secretaries to report progress (or problems) with the fixtures and the programme.
